In 1792, Mount Unzen erupted underwater and killed about 15,000 people! It was the worst volcano disaster ever  in the history of Japan. On June 3, 1991 an eruption forced the evacuation of a lot of homes and 43 people were killed.This volcano is overlaping 25000 years old.It has not been very active during the past several years.
